Hi there! I'm Adena, the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager here at Tonic Living, and I'd like to welcome you into my home...

I live in a charming 100-year-old house in midtown Toronto with my husband (and a very large collection of throw pillows!). Over the past two years, we've slowly designed the space to reflect our personal style, without doing any major renos. With a bit of paint, a few small projects, carefully-considered furniture and a thoughtful layering of accessories, we were able to transform this bare-bones box into a space that truly feels like us. I talk a bit about how we did this on House & Home TV. Catch the segment below, if you'd like to see!

Here's more info about each space, along with the Tonic Living products I used to help you get the look in your own home, if you're interested...

Entryway

Our main floor is entirely open-concept, so there is no true entryway separate from the rest of the space. I knew I didn't want our coats and shoes on full display, so that meant this space had to function like an entryway but look, essentially, like a pretty hallway. Closed storage was key! An armoire keeps outerwear tucked away, while a vintage stool that doubles as a side table in the living room holds a Handwoven Portuguese Basket, which is the perfect catchall for keys. A mirror, a wishbone chair (with a pillow of course) and a sturdy vintage rug finish off the look.

VALENTINA VELVET, JADE PILLOW

Living Room

A neutral shell in the living room means I can have fun switching up the decor and color palette as I please. This is a must since I am constantly enticed by Tonic Living's latest pillows! I kept it bright and white; creamy drapes with a pencil pinch pleat and black hardware for definition, an oatmeal linen sofa (we have a similar fabric coming soon!), and an ivory rug provide a perfect backdrop for layering in color. On the day of this shoot, I combined our Valentina Velvet, Jade Pillow with the Valentina Velvet, Cameo Pillow and the Margaux Pillow.  It really pops on set!

Breakfast Nook

This little corner of our home off the kitchen stayed empty for about a year-and-a-half, until we decided it was time to transform it into usable space—and I'm so happy we did! A marble table, bistro chairs and floating shelves make this sunny corner our favorite place to dine. I styled it up with some vintage pieces and plants to add some life. All of the plants and planters are from Tonic Living. We have a great selection of greenery in store!

The breakfast nook leads to a small built-in bench, which is the sunniest spot in our home thanks to the large window.
