CURRENT OPENINGS:

Home Decor Seamstress / Sewer

Tonic Living has an immediate requirement for a full-time Home Decor Seamstress/Sewer.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating industrial sewing machines such as; single-needle, lockstitch machine, and serger

  • Responsible for fabric cutting and accurate measuring

  • Assembling pillows and cushions

  • Check the quality of materials before sewing to ensure they are up to Tonic Living standards

  • Work quickly and efficiently in a team environment

Requirements:

  • A combination of skills, education (home decor, fashion or garment construction) and experience in a related sewing field

  • A passion for textiles and home decor

  • Industrial sewing machine operator experience is a definite asset but we are willing to train if you have domestic sewing experience

Design & Sales Associate

Tonic Living has an immediate requirement for a full-time Sales & Design Associate. The successful candidate needs interior decorating skills, estimating, time management, excellent organizational skills and be an overall awesome human! You will be responsible for assisting walk-in customers with all of their shopping needs and you will develop an expert knowledge of Tonic Living offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • You will greet clients as they enter the shop and assist, as necessary, including with order pick-ups.

  • You will consult with customers to solidify their design ideas, suggesting fabric patterns, treatment details, and fabric pairings.

  • You are responsible for sales of custom products, such as window treatments and pillows.

  • You will spend quite a bit of time on email assisting the design team with estimates and answering customer inquiries.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Must have great communication skills, enabling you to problem solve on the fly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills, you are able to manage multiple tasks and changes in your day-to-day responsibilities.

  • An ability to collaborate with fellow team members to prioritize and respond to all sales inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Build relationships with our amazing clients and be able to handle any complaints with diplomacy.

  • Passionate about home decor and have a strong eye for detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum College Diploma in interior design, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience required; such as interior design, home decor sales.

  • Ability to work competently Google “G Suite” in an Apple Mac environment is a definite asset.

Fulfillment Associate

Tonic Living has an immediate requirement for a full-time Fulfillment Associate. The successful candidate is detail-oriented and displays strong organizational skills. As a Fulfillment Associate, you will work in other departments when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately labelling and tagging merchandise

  • Support receiving and shipping department

  • Unpacking and processing of product

  • Inventory management: organizing and storing product and accounting for inventory

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education

  • Minimum of 1 year retail stockroom, fulfillment, and inventory experience

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities

  • Ability to work competently in an Apple Mac environment with Google “G Suite” is a definite asset

Drapery Sewer

Tonic Living has an immediate requirement for a full-time Drapery Sewer.

Responsibilities:

  • Sewing: drapery, roman shades and blinds

  • Operating industrial sewing machines: single-needle, lockstitch machine; high-speed, overlock stitch machine; and serger

  • Responsible for fabric cutting and material matching

  • Assembling and stringing roman shades on mechanical hardware

  • Assembling drapery and lining

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with a production schedule

  • Check the quality of materials before sewing to ensure they are up to quality standards

  • Participate in the sewing process as part of a team to ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards and delivery schedules

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' window treatment experience manufacturing custom drapery, roman shades, and blinds
